After his first EP on Infinite Depth in 2019 and his remix on ID021, Rowdy is back with his second EP. Throughout the year he has been developing his characteristic sound more and more. The result of his hard work is the ‘Misconception EP’, including four originals and a remix by the label’s Greek friends Symmetric & Future of Matter

The first track is called ‘Concepted Evolution’. The abstract synthwork as well as the firmly constructed kick and sharp percussion are typical for Rowdy’s sound. During the track these synths are slowly evolving, directed by mysterious ghost pads, which are guiding you through this evolution.

In ‘Lucid Field’ the pounding kick is even more present, but still very well balanced. Around this kick a hypnotizing atmosphere is built. This atmosphere will relocate your mind to a dark, but at the same time lucid place and keeps you in this dreamy state of mind till the end of the track.

Symmetric & Future of Matter took some of the captivating background elements of ‘Lucid Field’ and gave their remix a more organic feeling, which is characteristic for their tracks. Everything comes together at one point, forming a very intriguing moment where the acid and main lead are going over their peak, but stay into line.

The third track, ‘Elegance of Misbehaviour’, is the most raw track of the EP. The heavy lower part as well as the hovering raw percs are representing the concept of misbehaviour. On the other hand, the synthwork is dreamy and elegant. Rowdy perfectly managed to find the sweet spot in between these contradicting parts, which makes this track unique and powerful.

The final track of this collection is also the title track, which is called ‘Misconception’. This one also has that deep feeling, but with a hopeful touch. The combination of the deep lower part, the hopeful feeling and compelling composition, makes this track feel like a warm blanket wrapping around you, while floating into an endless distance.
